I just saw the new documentary "Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel" (click to view preview), a wonderfully entertaining portrait of the larger than life fashion icon DianaVreeland, editor of Harpers Bazaar (1937-62) and Vogue (1962-71).
Produced and directed by Lisa Immordino Vreeland, her granddaugher-in-law, the film features a dynamic collection of interviews with her and numerous legendary designers, photographers, editors and models, whose careers were launched, influenced and defined by Mrs.Vreeland.
But of course what got my attention most was her rhapsody on of all things... surfing! I scanned youtube for the clip, but unable to find anything decent, I paid my own homage by putting togther her audio with footage of another icon... surfing legend Buttons Kaluhiokalani. I think both compliment each other nicely.
